Scope of Our Home Care Services

Clear information about what we provide—and what we don't—so you can make confident decisions about non-medical home care support for your loved ones.

What We Provide (Non-Medical)

Tata Homecare specializes in non-medical home care services that support independence, comfort, and quality of life at home. Our services include:

Personal Care Assistance (Activities of Daily Living)

Non-medical assistance with:

  • Bathing and showering
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Toileting and incontinence care
  • Mobility support and transferring
  • Eating assistance

Companion Care

Social and emotional support including:

  • Friendly conversation and companionship
  • Social activities and hobbies
  • Reading, games, and entertainment
  • Emotional support and encouragement
  • Safety monitoring and observation

Meal Preparation

Planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals based on dietary preferences and routines. This includes grocery shopping assistance when appropriate.

Light Housekeeping Related to Care

  • Laundry and linen changes
  • Tidying living spaces
  • Dishwashing and kitchen cleanup
  • Maintaining a safe, clean environment

Transportation & Accompaniment

Accompaniment to appointments, errands, and social outings as appropriate. Transportation arrangements may be coordinated based on individual care plans and local availability.

Medication Reminders (Non-Medical)

Caregivers do not administer medications. We may provide non-medical reminders based on the established schedule provided by the client, family, or healthcare provider.

All services are non-medical in nature and do not replace skilled nursing, therapy, or medical care provided by licensed healthcare professionals.

What We Do NOT Provide

To ensure your family receives appropriate care, it's important to understand what Tata Homecare does not provide:

Skilled Nursing Services

We do not provide:

  • Wound care, dressing changes, or wound assessment
  • IV administration or monitoring
  • Catheter care or insertion
  • Injections or blood draws
  • Tube feeding management
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Any procedures requiring a licensed nurse

Medical Diagnosis or Treatment

Our caregivers are not medical professionals. They cannot:

  • Diagnose medical conditions or symptoms
  • Prescribe or recommend medications or treatments
  • Provide medical advice or assessments
  • Interpret medical test results
  • Make healthcare decisions

Medication Administration

While we may provide medication reminders, caregivers do not administer medications.

Emergency Services

We are not equipped to handle medical emergencies. For emergencies, call 911 immediately.

Therapy Services

Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy require licensed therapists and are outside our scope of practice.

If your loved one requires any of the above services, please coordinate with licensed healthcare providers or skilled nursing agencies.

When to Seek Medical Help

Understanding when to seek medical care is essential for your loved one's safety and well-being:

Medical Emergencies

Call 911 immediately if your loved one experiences any emergency. Examples include:

  • Chest pain or difficulty breathing
  • Sudden severe headache or confusion
  • Loss of consciousness or fainting
  • Severe bleeding or injury
  • Signs of stroke (facial drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty)
  • Any life-threatening emergency

Non-Emergency Medical Needs

For medical questions, symptoms, or health changes, consult your loved one's healthcare provider. This includes:

  • New or worsening symptoms
  • Medication questions or side effects
  • Changes in appetite, sleep, or behavior
  • Falls or injuries that need evaluation
  • Routine medical appointments and follow-ups

Skilled Nursing Needs

If your loved one requires skilled nursing services (wound care, IV therapy, etc.), coordinate with:

  • Licensed home health agencies
  • Visiting nurse services
  • Your loved one's healthcare provider for referrals

Our non-medical home care services can work alongside medical providers to support your loved one's overall care plan. We encourage open communication and coordination with all members of your loved one's healthcare team.

We provide non-medical home care only. We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.

We do not provide emergency services. In case of emergency, call 911.
